It's a great movie, and clearly shows a matching of what the movie is about and current events.
The one area, in which it is lacking, however, is what the common man is going to be like, and therefore, the qualify of living.

Keeps true to the spirit of the book. Tells us where we are going if we don't make changes now, while we still can! If only there were a John Galt out there!

After first reading "Atlas Shrugged" in 1980 (and I might add, unable to put the book down at every occasion until finished), I was very pleased to see the first movie installment (Part 1) hit the "nail on the head" with not only book accuracy, but the relevance to today's society and its political reality! Heed well those who try to "suckle the pig" at others' expense. Well done, Atlas Shrugged Productions, well done!

Would like a little more volume on the voices. Otherwise, great job!

I have read Atlas Shrugged 3 times and am so thrilled that the movie was as true to the book as it is. I also loved the characters and how well the movie was done. I had sort of expected a bit of a "B" type movie and it isn't. I was third in line on opening day to see part II and loved it as well. A little disappointed that the actors had changed. The message is chilling so it is hard to say you really enjoy the movie, but it is a message that everyone needs to see. Well done, please, make part III. I think many of us are searching for the Gulch right now.

It's a really interesting movie. I enjoyed it.
"Le rebelle" of King Vidor was great but this movie, according to me, was better. I'm looking forward the part II.
I only regret not to have enough time to read the subtitles in English when I was watching the movie.

An excellent movie. Show what could happen in the next four years. I think all Liberals should view an learn something of what is to come. Can't wait for Pt.2 since it will not be shown in my area, Upper New York State.

movie was done very well yet seemed like a lower budget film. I was disappointed with Taylor Schilling as Dagny Taggart. This book deserved a big budget attempt at telling the story.

After many years, I finally read this in Summer of '11 and purchased Part 1 two weeks ago.
The producers have done a very good job of covering the highlights of this complex story. My only complaint is that the character development is a bit lacking. Dagny Taggart comes across as she should, wavering between passion and practicality, but Henry Reardon needs a bit more depth. As to the setting, I had expected the background to be much grittier, run-down, impoverished. Other than those few points, this adaptation could serve as a good introduction to Rand and her criticism of modern society.
I do appreciate that this version, set in 2016 to 2017, is being presented as a story for our times. As I read the novel I constantly had to remind myself that Rand wrote this sixty years ago. I swear the woman wrote with a crystal ball perched on her desk.
