I was delighted with the movie production and how well it followed the novel even though the times were updated to our current era.
I actually use this film in two of my college classes: Personal Finance and Corporate Finance, where the semester's work requires using Fundamental and Technical Analysis. The presentation is so compelling that Atlas Shrugged Part 1, ties all the lessons of the semester together in a neat conclusion.

Liked it very much. A good reminder that if we are not careful with how much power we allow the goverment to have they can really make things worst. This might be a good movie to have high school kids in goverment and economics classes watch.

This beginning shows that we have the opportunity to change what is happening in the country, but so many are not willing to put out the effort. It so much easier to let someone else carry the world on their shoulders for you than you doing it for yourself, and letting that happen, the nation starts its spirial down. Who would imagine that this story was written so many years ago and it is happening today!! Can't wait to part two again.

Ayn Rand couldn't have called what is going on today under Obama's Marxist regime any better if she were alive and writing the book today. Something that really caught my attention was the stand the government took on patents in the movie. 2012 Oklahoma State Question 766 deals with a variation of that stand. It addresses whether or not intangible property should be taxed: patents, inventions, formulas, designs, trade secrets, etc. Of course if these things are taxed, the government/Big Brother gets to decide their worth. Atlas Shrugged, parts 1 and 2, is something every American should see. It is an eye-opener in ways you never imagined. And recent headlines are like extensions of the movie. Top Railroad executives going down in a plane crash - the beat goes on. WAKE UP AMERICA!
Ayn Rand has been referred to as a genius, and Atlas Shrugged proves that she was.

I showed this movie to my Comparative Economic Systems class, and our general opinion was that the movie was about as faithful to the book as one could get, given that the book was written 4 decades before my students were born!

The characters are large, full of ambition and creativity. They carry the banner of exceeding when all else around them falls into despair. Who will disappear next? Why? A mystery with a moral.

Seeing that it was written years ago, she had great incite as to what could happen.
Now , it is coming full circle.
All you have to look at is what has happened in the last ten years.
We are losing more freedom every day.
Live free or die a slave to the government.

This movie has wonderful sets and actors. It tells a complicated story very well!
